Our animals have a limited ability to communicate since they do not possess the use of language and opposable thumbs. So they come up with other ways to get our attention, and often these ways end up frustrating us and making us angry. That chewed up pair of shoes didn't exactly thrill you, and the bed Sage was peeing on wasn't making her owner, Lynsey, any happier.
I met Lynsey recently online, and discovered right away that she's an amazing healer with really great intuitive skills. She was frustrated because her cat was occasionally peeing on her boyfriend's stuff, and she couldn't figure out why.
After the session, Lynsey wrote me a beautiful message letting me know that Sage was super cuddly. We discovered on the call that Sage likes to be "prettied" (Sage's words!), and that she loves to be recognized as the Queen of the house, which she very much is.
Lynsey was delighted with the shift in Sage, but wrote me this week saying that Sage was peeing on things again. I knew we needed a different approach, and since Lynsey is already an accomplished healer I helped guide her through some questions and options to figure out what was bothering Sage.
We started checking into some questions with Lynsey's pendulum. In order to receive answers for Sage's situation, we first checked to make sure that Lynsey was able to dowse for Sage. She got a yes, so we continued asking questions. Through the exploration we found that the remedy for the tape worms that Lynsey was using for Sage was working well, and she didn't need any further remedies for that. As we started exploring emotional options, we learned that she didn't want essential oils, but got a yes for Bach Flower Remedies. I left Lynsey to dowse later to find out which remedy Sage was asking for. I suggested that Lynsey ask to see if there was still something else that she needed, and she got a yes, so we kept going down the list of emotional solutions, and got a big yes for Emotional Freedom Technique, also referred to as EFT or tapping.
Emotional Freedom Technique is an amazingly simple technique that is easy to do on yourself (or on your animal) that works based on the meridian points in the face and upper body. Using a loose script, you "tap" on the specific points using the fingers to help release the emotions and traumas. I gave Lynsey the instruction on how to adjust the points for animals (its a bit challenging to get to the "under the nose" point and the "armpit" point on a cat!), and some guidelines for how to adapt if the cat wasn't totally interested in the tapping (not likely since she did ask for it). Lynsey was also really surprised to note that in her healing course she is working on currently, they've been studying tapping for the past two weeks. As a healer in a healing course, there is always a lot of emphasis put on making sure you are in the proper mindset and are clear in order to help someone else. Lynsey had been working hard the past two weeks tapping on herself, and now her cat was demanding that her own needs be addressed so that the entire household is clear!
Lynsey was able to report a few hours later that her cat sat very still for several rounds, but eventually wanted to bite her fingers. I let her know that it may have been that the cat felt like she was clear, and was done with the session. Cats have a way of informing us that they are finished with certain things, and Sage is quite a Queen, so it didn't surprise me. Lynsey did say that Sage was quite content with it, and seemed to be enjoying herself.
This is just another amazing example of how our animals struggle to communicate, but when we find the answer, everything just falls into a state of harmony.
